Revitalise Your Skin with Polynucleotides

The Future of Natural, Regenerative Skin Boosters!

What are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are a ‘skin booster’ treatment that have been hailed as the future of regenerative injectables. Using PDRN technology, the treatment switches on and accelerates your skin’s own renewal mechanisms at the cellular level.

How do they work?

Polynucleotides consist of DNA fragments that are derived from salmon or trout (similar DNA to humans). The DNA fragments are filtered, sterilised and ultra-purified and made into a clear get that is injected into the skin. The fragments trigger at the cellular level of the skin an acceleration of the skin cell’s regenerative mechanisms. Fibroblasts (collagen producing cells) are targeted leading to increased production of collagen.  As a result of optimal functioning of the skin’s repair systems, skin hydration and pigmentation improves. The treatment also has an anti-oxidant effect reducing the skin’s vulnerability to free radicals and external stresses. Research studies investigating polynucleotides showed an increase in collagen produced by 47%.

What results do I expect to see after a treatment with Polynucleotides?

  • Improved skin hydration
  • Thicker, firmer skin
  • Improved fine lines
  • Reduced hollowing and increased volume
  • Reduces irregular pigmentation

What areas can be treated with Polynucleotides?

A huge advantage with polynucleotides is that it is a very versatile treatment and can be used in virtually any site where there are skin concerns. The most popular area treated at Dr Joelle Aesthetics is around the eyes (or tear trough region) where the treatment has consistently produced significant improvements in the skin quality, pigmentation and even hollowing of the under-eye region. Other common areas treated are:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Thighs
  • Hair (hair restoration)
  • Decolletage
  • Hands
  • Scars

Would I benefit from Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides could benefit virtually every client as it produces natural results and optimises skin quality. It is also fantastic for areas where there are aesthetic concerns and dermal filler would rather be avoided eg the tear trough region.

When do I see results?

Unlike dermal fillers , Polynucleotides work at the DNA level of the skin cells so results take longer to be seen but may last longer too. Results vary per patient and are seen at about 3-5 weeks and  are continued to be observed over the subsequent few months.

Are Polynucleotides safe?

Polynucleotides have an exceptional safety profile with virtually no related complications during its history of close to 2 million treatments. Of course, they carry the risk associated with other injectables such as bruising and swelling.

What to expect during the your Polynucleotide treatment?

Following a consultation, anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated. A very tiny needle or cannula (very thin and blunt needle) is used to administer the product into the targeted area. There is a small risk of bruising and swelling.

The recommended treatment course is 2 -3 treatments at 2-4 week intervals. Maintenance single treatments are recommended at approximately 6 months to 1 year.
